What it means and why
A replacement cycle states when to discard a lens and use a new one. A wearing schedule states when it may be on the eye. These are separate clocks: a monthly replacement lens is not permission to wear it continuously for a month.
For reusable lenses, follow the product’s interval from opening or first use as specified, not a personal count of occasional wear days. Cleaning does not reset the lens’s approved replacement interval.
A worked example
Teaching scenario: a person opens a monthly lens and wears it only on weekends. They should not stretch that pair into thirty separate wear days unless the actual instructions explicitly define the interval that way. Record the opening date and keep the prescribed replacement schedule.
What it does not tell you
Daily disposable lenses are for one use, not for repeated use after soaking. A lens that still feels comfortable is not evidence that it is within its replacement or wear limits.

No. Replacement frequency and overnight wearing approval are different specifications.
