Recognise a different care system
Hydrogen peroxide contact lens systems disinfect lenses but must be neutralised before the lenses touch the eyes. FDA warns that unneutralised solution can cause burning, irritation or eye damage. It must never be put directly in the eye or used as a final pre-insertion rinse.
Use the supplied components
Follow the exact product’s instructions for its neutralising case or tablet and its full soaking time. Do not substitute an ordinary storage case. FDA advises using the new case supplied with a new bottle rather than continuing with an old peroxide case.
Plan the next wear in advance
Our suggested habit is to check the required finishing time before starting the cycle. If you need to leave before that time, plan to wear glasses. Do not try to speed the process with water, extra rinsing or a guessed shorter interval.
Prevent bottle mix-ups
Keep the product clearly labelled and separate from other eye-care liquids. Ask the practitioner to demonstrate the system before your first use or a change of brand. Check compatibility with your lenses; a familiar-looking bottle does not guarantee identical instructions.
