Start with the principle
Pure titanium and beta-titanium alloys are different material descriptions. Composition and processing influence mechanical properties. Beta titanium is not a synonym for nickel-titanium memory alloy, and an alloy name alone cannot specify temple springiness.
Check every relevant part
A titanium marking may not cover screws, joints, nose-pad supports or coatings. For a known contact allergy, ask about the actual contact areas. Neither the word titanium nor a corrosion-resistance claim guarantees tolerance for every person.

The linked 2014 ABDO technical article includes industry sponsorship. We use its material and construction background, not its promotional or absolute allergy claims. Damaged joints require an appropriate repair assessment, not home soldering.
A worked example
Teaching example: two beta-titanium temples differ in thickness and curve. Their grip can differ on the same head. Try both for fit; a more dramatic bending demonstration does not establish better comfort.
