Name the material
Plastic, polycarbonate and other high-index materials have different properties. Index alone does not specify impact performance or the complete optical behaviour of a lens.
Explain how you use your glasses
Tell the dispenser about sport, work hazards and sensitivity to weight. Ask whether certified protective eyewear is needed for the activity, rather than treating ordinary prescription glasses as safety equipment.
